Ironman Mont-Tremblant will be the fifth Ironman event that Team ReserveAid is represented in and the first one outside of the United States. New Team RA team member, Jonathan Lieberman, has quite the story to share and we’re proud that he’ll be wearing the red, white, and blue come August 2013.
Jonathan “Liebs” Lieberman overcame weighing 241 lbs, a pack-a-day smoking habit, and a lifelong fear of the water to become a 10x marathoner and 3x Ironman, ultimately lotterying into and successfully completing the 2011 Ironman World Championship at age 39. Adding to the celebration of these achievements was the good fortune of being included in the NBC broadcast and DVD of the Hawaii Ironman, as well as a recent photo feature in the December 2012 issue of Runner’s World entitled “The Runner’s Body” (see below). A devout believer in the Ironman mantra Anything Is Possible, Liebs still uses all things Ironman as a model for dealing with Life’s adversity, still considers himself a Clydesdale at heart, and still will always bet on the underdog to finish a race…especially when it is he himself. His only race this year will be the Ironman North American Championship in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec, Canada on August 18, 2013, where he will proudly represent Team ReserveAid.
Jonathan continues to be inspired by the love from his two sons Alex and Zach, as well as the unwavering support from his parents Arleen and Joel and his loving girlfriend Dana.
Liebs is proud to be wearing his country’s flag and supporting such a great cause while competing in Ironman Mont-Tremblant. To show your support for Jonathan as he races in his fourth Ironman and to help our nation’s heroes simply click the Donate Now button below.
